The mission of the Praxis Institute is to provide academic preparation that provides quality vocational training with an orientation to employment. In this way, it allows students to participate in a process of mutual support and benefit.

In addition, we believe that the main objective of our institution is to offer programs that promote the acquisition of the necessary skills compatible with the needs and demands required in today’s competitive job market.

The Praxis Institute offers vocational courses in Spanish in the areas of: Advanced Clinical and Therapeutic Massage, Therapeutic Massage Technician, Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Patient Care Technician. 

Objective of the Programs:

Advanced Therapeutic and Clinical Massage

Upon completion of this program, the student will have the skills and knowledge to apply for and take the licensing examination by the Federation of State Boards of Massage Therapy (MBLEx). In addition, students will obtain Certification in Spa Therapies, Electrostimulation, Ultrasound, Laser, Neuromuscular Therapy (Certification granted by the International Academy of Neuromuscular Therapies through a partnership with TPI) and Holistic Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Certification granted by the Lymph Manual Drainage Institute International through a partnership with TPI).

Therapeutic Massage Technician

The objective of this vocational program is to prepare students for the National Certification Exam to obtain the Massage Therapist License, by developing and acquiring the necessary skills. Upon completion of the program, students will have an understanding of the structure and function of the human body. They will apply hydrotherapy and massage techniques with success. And they will be familiar with the exercise programs that can help the musculoskeletal system; Florida law and allied modalities currently practiced. This program trains students to use skills and abilities that promote the health and well-being of their clients.

Dental assistant

The professional objective of the program is to prepare students to a level of basic and introductory ability to the dental industry, in order to obtain paid employment in said field, where they will work with dentists and be able to perform a wide variety of care tasks to the patient, office and laboratory.

Dental assistants work alongside dentists to support them with daily dental procedures and office work. They typically work in dental facilities, but can also be found working in hospitals that provide dental treatment services. In addition to assisting chairside dentists, they are required to perform clerical and clerical jobs that may include scheduling appointments and providing reception services.

Pharmacy Technician

This program is results-oriented that promote personal and professional development through classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and practicals, while enhancing critical thinking and multitasking skills during the clinical experience. The curriculum is standardized in accordance with accrediting agencies to provide a training-based, results-oriented academic experience with didactic, laboratory, and clinical elements. Students receive a syllabus that contains the specific objectives of the program. The program may be offered in a language / language assisted format. All textbooks, PowerPoint® presentation software, class materials, medical terminology, and exams are offered in English.

Patient Care Technician

The Patient Care Technician program is designed to train students to function safely and effectively as integral members of the health care team. In this multi-occupational program, students are cross-trained to perform a variety of health care functions, including but not limited to basic patient care, performing EKGs as an EKG Technician, or collecting laboratory samples as a Phlebotomist.
